Living in New England has it’s benefits. I love being on the coast, and exploring the coastal towns in the surrounding states. When I told my mom I wanted to start this blog, she suggested this be a perfect place to start and she couldn’t have been any more right!

Mystic Connecticut

Mystic Connecticut is a little dream right out of a movie. (For real, it’s called Mystic Pizza and it’s a classic starring the one and only, Julia Roberts).

AND you can watch the movie, in the restaurant, in Mystic. As a pizza snob I heard a lot of negative feedback about the food here. I was determined to go for the experience and I am glad I did instead of listening to what other people had to say. We had a great time and the food was delicious.

After lunch, take the kids to the Mystic Aquarium to learn about sea life, watch shows, and get up close and personal with sea critters. The Mystic Aquarium offers lots of discounts making it perfectly affordable for a single income household.

My kids were exhausted and fell asleep on the ride home which was perfect for me! I would love to do this whole day again, it was a blast.

Pizza, penguins, and the perfect summer day! This trip could be extended into a weekend with museums to visit, more restaurants, shops and beaches but for us it was the perfect day trip.
